Can't connect to server. Help

deadass been trying to connect for the past 2 hours.

Every time I get stuck at 62% when it says it's downloading materials/vgui/entities/wac_pl_p40_u.vmt

Just now I managed to get to the character selection screen but my game froze and I had to restart my computer.

So far I have tried verifying the game cache multiple times, restarted my computer and even uninstalled some addons. Nothing seems to work.

Try connecting to another server for a moment.

There's also the possibility of you uninstalling all your addons by deleting the addon folder. That usually works out, though time consuming.

Also check your options in multiplayer to see if you're set to be able to download all custom files from the server so you can possibly just red/l from reconnecting rather than workshop.

The first one should fix it for now. Give it a try.

Joined a random server and it worked perfectly fine. Went to go join the phl2rp server and faced the same issue.

Ok just tried to join a different server and my game crashed. Now I cant join any server I guess. :C

i fixed it i just restarted my pc and verified the game cache multiple times for a good 10 minutes until it worked
