I have downloaded TnB HL2RP Playermodels. I have tried unsubscribing and letting it automatically download, and it hasn't worked.

I've gotten rid of the old TnB stuff. [At least I think I have, but nobody told specifically what the "old stuff" even was.]

Some people have told me to make sure I'm NOT subscribed to TS2, while other people said I should be. I've tried both and it hasn't worked.

Make sure you get rid of the old TnB stuff by also going to your addons file (C:/ ProgramFilesx86/ Steam/ SteamApps/ common/ GarrysMod/ garrysmod/ addons) and deleting them from there. Because if you just delete it from in-game, there's a chance that some of the content might still be there.

Delete your addons folder and also your materials and models folders and let them rebuild. Old TnB content from those may still be around and cause conflictions.

Basically almost the same shit, if he went to delete them from his addons file, he would be smart to check the rest of his files...
