Do admins still look at your steam overlay and files

Locust built a fucking dream. Yeah that dream MAY have been built off of DOXing underaged girls for their IP addresses and their nudes but goddamnit it was a fucking dream. And Bennet and RIck and just about everyone who's anyone was apart of it. Once upon a time Toastmatic was a fucking name you gave out to get into high-class clubs, not one you throw out to get quickly banned from a community. We used to be something, goddamnit. WHere did we go so wrong?

gangster chemtrail police state hl2 using 5G Gay rays to force me into lesbian erp then recording it through my eyeballs using my 'coronavirus vaccine' implanted RFID chip, streaming it directly to the pedophile CEOs in hollywood's private island's servers for blackmail used to destroy the white race

how can i be safe? if I'd have known this I would have stopped writing my full bank details into the steam overlay google search bar.

I seriously gotta stop filing my taxes on steam overlay

toast consummated his exile from the community by posting an expose on invasive administration addons that were found just by joining the public tnb server, which I think was TRP at the time. I was in vc with him when he discovered it. The addon was able to scan player's screenspace and give users a chance to peek at player's steam overlay, including the steam webrowser. There were rumors that were spread by Anony that admins were using it to spy on players, though there was never any hard evidence that it was being used that way besides suspecions from other players that the admins seemed to know a lot more about their private business than they should.

it would have been nice if these concerns were taken seriously but bennet and hoplite decided to meme about it instead and just ban toast. Anybody that wanted assurance that this addon wasn't being used was laughed at and labeled a trouble maker who just wanted tnbs downfall. Since this was never really addressed in anyway that can put anyone's mind to rest, you just have to be comfortable with the idea someone might be snickering at your erp logs without your knowledge.

I have no idea if this functionality was taken out of gmod or if the addon is still in use and that's more to the point that this was only ever memed about and never really dealt with. Oh well.

It’s still around and they’re spying on YOU

It was addressed by both Bennet and Tanknut in a pretty hefty rebuttal post at the time. Other smarter people than me chimed in on that thread to confirm it didn't work how Toast claimed it did, including people who had no reason to like Bennet.

Hell, apparently Toast knew about this for years but didn't tell anyone. Why? Because he was in good. He had no need to. He brushed that off with "sorry it was a bad call" lol. He admits if he wasn't feeling spiteful he would have done nothing. The only other person to back these claims up was Anony - who coincidentally had been staff on Crossroads.

Is it any wonder why these two would have a vested interest in seeing TnB hurt on their way out?

Pretty much exactly what happened. The document was pretty convincing—he took it step by step. From what I understood it was a very ancient addition to the older scripts we used to run on. It’s definitively not present in the current script, however. This is a script that’s only been used for a number of SRP’s Pirate and Rusty ran ocer the past few years and hasn’t had the good old tnb backend tinkering done.

I miss Toast a lot. Major inspiration for my writing.
