why in the world should i have to run around in pitch blackness for 30 minutes trying to find the rp hub on a character that is wounded and can't actually leave said hub ic anyway

I think there's a way to move spawn points, but I'm not sure why whoever made that map thought that was a remotely smart idea

p.s. I hope you guys like spiders, cause I have plans for this map and it may or may not involve spiders

I think it wouldbe cool to try a map like this one on s2 during the winter,

Steam Workshop :: rp_nexusgrad_v1_winter (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=374492855)

(or this, an edited version),

Steam Workshop :: rp_stalingrad_gamizer (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=660059160)

With the reason being that the resistance moves into a border district to better survive the winter. The map is wide open and has an "outlands" part, as well as a frozen river with bridges that can be watched by CCA units on patrol. There's also apartments and some warehouses and public buildings, and while this huge amount of space wouldn't work for S1, maybe it can work for S2?

In any case I'm going to be trialing the map soon in an event.

Personally, for all I understand the hesitance of using this map I also think it makes a lot of IC sense.

  1. It's only natural we'd move closer (or in this case under the city during the winter so as to have better access to food and other supplies.
  2. We don't have to worry about COTA, Airwatch or shellings underground - only the CCA and Xenian wildlife.
  3. We're a lot warmer and safer down here (good luck trying to find us out in this disused ratrun of tunnels that we can quite easily defend, chokepoint wise, if we have to).
  4. We have direct access to the city above - with risk - for extra supplies without needing to travel several days if not longer and all of the risks associated with it.
I don't see why we'd go back to a much more open area and bring back all of those risks.

Stalingrad version please. It has slightly more content too.

This just in: the river is breakable.

border district

say no more. i love the idea of the resistance hiding out within the city limits (well, technically- maybe outside the walls, but still in the original pre-war city limits).
could increase the amount of scanners, could have the occassional cca patrol...

where's that terminator destroyed city map

salvation was it? i like that map

isn't salvation_night the one with the obnoxiously huge moon

e; wait no i think that's salvation_night_redux

ok so after some quick checking the only option is really rp_nexusgrad, atleast among the maps sym suggested
stalingrad has obnoxious reflections in a very strange purple-blue tint
but it's just way too big and empty

but may i suggest CITYRUINS?
it has several possible setup sites and even a little underground
Steam Workshop :: Cityruins 2 (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=266180263&searchtext=cityruins)
hell, the location alone allows us to say that this is just the resistance leaving the tunnels

Wait so what is wrong with dark tunnels? Too metro-feeling or just in general no one likes it?

I like it, but I can see why most don't.
Bad spawns. Odds are you're extremely far away from wherever the rebels are congregating.
Too easy to get lost if you don't already know the map (no real way to follow directions), meaning you'll be without rp for a pretty decent while.
Some people get broken textures.

I wouldn't give it the chop just yet though, would like to see some scene-setting mini events first.

It's obnoxiously dark and labyrinthian and most of its space is just samey dark tunnels. I'm not interested in hunting for the rp hub for 30 minutes, prefer to just spawn in it or be able to get to it quickly.

you know you can just ask ooc wheres the rp hub and go there, theres no shame in that.

shit can't be served on a golden plate for you 24/7, it's not hard to hold down shift and w while moving your mouse a bit too

Alright, so stuff that can be fixed with a few spawn sets (hopefully).

I say we give it a shot for a week unless it's just /that/ unbearable.

Anton, are you stupid on purpose or can you just not help it?

I'm not spending 30 minutes looking for the roleplay hub so I can spend another 30 minutes to an hour to find some roleplay once I'm there. I'd rather just play battlefield.

Deliberately making it harder to find roleplay because "lol git gud" is retarded.

can't help it when you literally can ask other people where they all gathered up at

"We're in the dark tunnel" "We're in the dark room, take a left from the dark tunnel"

When I asked where the RP was after wandering for 10 minutes I found out it was "in the mall" which doesn't help me at all, so I just quit and played battlefield for a few hours instead. I got a double headshot and killed a bunch of dudes with a single grenade. It was a lot more satisfying than I can imagine wandering around in a maze for the same duration would have been.

There's no way to convey direction on this map because there's no landmarks. It's just a confusing mess of tunnels. It's meant to be confusing, which makes it good for events, but not good for an extended stay.

Tbh from spawn, all you have to do is go down the staircase, follow the main tunnel and jump up on the first platform on the left that says 'maintinence door' and you're there. I can even do it without a flashlight.

But I get if people don't know that they're likely to just get terribly lost.
