This is more of a computer than server problem but I was wondering if anyone could help. Computer froze and died while on server, I restarted and am met with a Reboot and Select proper Boot device prompt. Could use some help.

Choose your harddrive to boot from.

My computer died and I just fixed it. I had to reformat everything and I am faced with the same problem, but everytime I turn on my desktop. I have to manually force it to boot from my HDD. The bootlist in my BIOS is in the correct order but it still wont boot windows automatically.

But do this:

1: When you manufacturer's logo pops up on your screen, hold f12

2: it should say to press a key to open boot settings, press a random key.

3: If #2 doesn't show up, highlight your HDD (hard-drive) using the arrow keys to move it up and down, then press enter.

It should load up after this. If not, let me know. This is what I have to do EVERY time I turn my desktop on now.

When your computer starts regardless of having a basic or UEFI BIOS you can rapidly press F8 to enter the BIOS menu and see if there is any issue there, but most likely you want to just rapidly press F12 and select your hard drive.

It will usually be listed under a serial number but you should pay attention more to the disk size than that if you want to select your OS drive.

What Jadougie said above can work too. In the F8/DEL BIOS menu you can manage your HDD/CD-RW/FDD/etc. load order as well.

My boot order.

Hmph, it looks like the right order to me in that picture Roaper. I set my boot order to the right order in my uefi bios and I still have to do the method I stated above every time I boot.

Quickly beginning to suspect my hard drive fried.

Is there a way to check from my bios if the hard drive is detected?

Try holding f12 at your manufacterers screen (which looks to be MSI) if your hard drive comes up it will be something like TOSHIBA-*numbers*-*more numbers* (1.0 TB) for example.

Nothing.

I thought this was going to be another tekka ic thread.

yes this is very likely your hard drive being dead

OR unplugged
unlikely but same result:

ur pc doesnt see it

install a webcam to the inside of ur pc. aim the webcam at the hard drive and say the words 'see it now retard'

after that u should be ok
