I set up a 37 inch TV in my room and so I alternate my PC between my 24 inch and 37 inch depending on what I'm doing. I had some problems with the TV at first since everything was sort of zoomed in at first but connecting the HDMI cable to the second port somehow managed to fix that. Now this morning that I've connected the cable back to my monitor, everything is sort of messed up. Some icons are way too big, some are way too small. Most things like my web browser look low definition. My taskbar is all messed up as you can see.

My mouse pointer is huge as well.

Check your resolution in your control panel, that might help out.

To get your icons smaller, click on a single icon. When it turns blue, hold control and scroll with your mousewheel until you find a size to fit your taste.

I don't know about your taskbar though.

You can resize your mouse in the control center and it should have a folder that has different settings for your mouse pointer. I would help you out more but I'm on phone so I can't now if you don't get it I may be able to help later. I'll hop on my computer.

i'm guessing what happened is the pointer settings & icon settings didnt change when you plugged in the monitor

anyway, to change the cursor to regular size you'll want to go to control panel - mouse if in the icons list, or hardware and sound if in category mode.

from there, move over to the pointers tab and select a cursor from the drop down menu. the default should be "Windows Aero (system scheme)".

the text is found in Appearance and Personalisation under "Make text and ther items larger or smaller", or just "Display". you should be able to select "Smaller", "Medium" and "Larger" as text formats.

with the icons im not sure how it works on windows 8, but in windows 7 you can get to it from Taskbar and Start Menu in Control Panel and unchecking small icons.

That's what I was trying to say.

Thanks for the help. It fixed itself after a restart lol.
