Hi! Most people are aware that this server was released under interesting circumstances and a lot of information that should've been right out in front of everyone from the beginning wasn't there, so I'm going to try and mend that with a quick overview on what this server is and how it's most likely to progress.
The idea from the start is that this Zombies RP server takes an opposite route to our two previous ones, wherein their outbreaks and the following apocalypse RP happened only one or two weeks into the server's lifespan. We didn't want to rehash the same exact territory we have prior and decided to make the pre-outbreak section of this server a much larger part of it. I'll break down what we've already gone through and what's ahead of us, so everyone's on the same exact page of what to expect. Keep in mind that this plan is following a roughly three-month server span, though that is subject to change -- a slightly longer running server is not out of the question.
1. Pre-Outbreak, RL-RP.
This is mostly what the first month of the server has been. Mob ties, police crackdowns, and slice of life content. There were hints thrown around of what's to come, with certain conspiracy groups getting ahead of the curve than most people with identifying critical information of what's ahead for the world at large. The disease started in distant parts of the world from the United States and has continued slowly developing from there, though there's been no information accessible about possible 'resurrections' of the dead. Things were mostly normal during this period, aside from major challenges against law enforcement to keep order in the streets and prevent major unrest. Some light zombie content has been witnessed during this period, though the infection has not caused too many resurrections at this point.
2. The Collapse, initial stages of the "Outbreak"
This is what we are moving into as of right now. The infection will be picking up pace, spreading across the globe with confirmed cases across almost every country in the world. Procedures will be enacted by countries around the globe to attempt containment zones and prevent the disease from completely sweeping through their nations. Lockdowns will be enacted, hospitals will become crowded, and news of the dead walking will begin to surface. The governments of certain nations who didn't act quickly enough may begin to collapse and their borders will become military hot-beds for their neighbors who refuse to let sick refugees cross over. Major cities in the United States may become hotbeds for this infection and might struggle to keep it contained. The undead will progressively become a more common sight and a perilous enemy, though civil society doesn't have to completely collapse yet if people attempt to maintain it. Major opportunities here for everyone to start developing their character's role in this extremely perilous world that seems to keep getting worse and worse.
3. The Apocalypse? Maybe
This is where I really don't want to say too much, but we're intending on spicing this up and doing it different compared to our other servers. To answer most people's concern here, the 'apocalypse' beginning will not be the finale of the server. It'll be its own chapter of the server and will be seen through from start to finish like the others. If you have heard something like 'it's only going to last one week', or 'my friend said it's going to last x amount of time', please disregard that. Just kick back and enjoy what we have now and what's to come :)
If something wasn't explicitly covered in this, it's likely because that is a plot point that's meant to be worked through in-character on the server. Don't want to put every card on the table and ruin every surprise but I do want to ease some worries that the server being marketed as a zombies server is going to be 'real life RP' forever and ever. There are no strict timetables placed with 'The Collapse' or the possible 'Apocalypse' either just to be completely clear again, everything is going to get its fair shake.
