Windows 8 and SRP addons.

So ive been playing SRP on my old PC which was running Windows XP.
Since today ive got a new PC and its running Windows 8.
Everything went well till i got to the part where i had to implement all of the server downloads and maps into Steam/Steamapps/Common/Garrysmod/Garrysmod

The thing is that i noticed there was stuff missing from the list of files like Sound etc..

Anyone knows anything?

Your problem is not Windows 8. Have you installed all of the required base content (HL2, CSS, etc)?

Yes, i got CSS, HL2, HL2 Lost Coast and HL2 Deathmatch which i used on my old pc.

Are you talking about files/folders (and which ones, specifically?) missing from /garrysmod/, or files/folders missing from the content pack?

Folders were missing from garrysmod/garrysmod like sound, models, materials etc. They were /NOT/ missing from the content packs.

Yeah, i ran them and verified Gmod cache.

Did you check to make sure they are being mounted?

Have you run Garry's Mod?

Okay so my brother figured it out for me, he basically just made new folders with the exact names of the missing ones and used those to extract the addons into and it works fine now <3
