I've recently been saving up to build a PC, and as of late have been challenged by advocates of the new "sandybridge" CPU architecture that I should immediately rewrite my plans in favour of this seemingly "ok" processor.

So, what the hell are the benefits of a Sandybridge over other processors?

Faster, less energy consumption and did I mention faster?

Ridiculous over-clocking mainly. Not to mention, both of them are good, fairly priced CPUs even with stock speeds.
