So, why aren't we using TS3 yet? The client is vastly superior to Ventrilo in every single way.
I can't think of one single thing Vent does that TeamSpeak doesn't do better. 3D positioning, much easier user-by-user volume settings (right-click, miscellaneous, special effects, volume, add special effect, okay can go FUCK ITSELF), global and channel chat that isn't "opt-in" and actual hyperlinks (right-click, miscellaneous, copy comment, alt-tab to Firefox, ctrl-v, enter can go FUCK ITSELF), and most importantly its voice activation works flawlessly whereas Ventrilo's is a horrible piece of trash garbage -- it's flaky as shit, it has no visual volume meter, it has no obvious way to get your peak volume when you speak vs when you breathe, and I still cannot figure out whether the generic "mic sensitivity" setting has a direct or an inverse relationship to actual mic sensitivity. Whereas I had absolutely no trouble getting it configured on TeamSpeak and it worked every time, instead of picking up every single breath I take yet failing to notice my fucking voice.
tl;dr: Ventrilo is a user-unfriendly dinosaur of a VOIP client that needs to fucking die and TS3 is superior in every conceivable way
