Brief summary of first night - Teams got acquainted and team leaders took their groups off to start doing their own work. Security closed up the check point in the valley below with the arrival of the rest of the expedition and joined the others in the research facility. Helicopter was used to two teams out for surveying and polar bear tracks were discovered. A cave clearing became visible while the team was out and they regrouped with the others before venturing inside and discovering something trapped in the ice. The block of ice was extracted and brought back to the anomalous materials lab for storage.
