This crash has happened three times in a row, and only today, the full Engine Error reads "Steam DLL isn't worthy of our trust on line 76561197999284331" and I fixed it by deleting ClientRegistry.blob and restarting steam, but I don't want to have to do this every time I play Garrysmod. This bug happened whilst trying to join SRP, if that helps, and I googled for a fix but nothing really useful came up besides Reinstalling Steam. Anyone know what to do?

It's not pirated, it's happened to other people, I've googled.

Seeing as this is the DRM Garry implemented some time ago, the first thing that I would suspect is a pirated/hacked Steam or GMod. If that's not the case, the DRM is probably running wild - in which case, you can try Google or rather FP.

Well I found it'd happened to someone on another forum, and that an admin was fixing it because it was a temporary issue that'd been caused by the server, or something.

[EDIT] Also, this bug doesn't happen on Singleplayer, or the startup of Gmod, it only happens on SRP, maybe even all of TnB for me, and it started today.

I doubt that there's anything TnB can do for you - but perhaps you could link that other thread?

It's not a bug, as I said, it's the DRM that's turning on. Are you sure you never cracked any game on Steam, this includes games that might were standalone but use Steamworks for something in the background?

The thread isn't helpful at all as it doesn't state the server broke it and in addition, this happened only a day after the very update. I think, but I'm not sure, that there had been a patch for the DRM soon after.

I've never cracked any steam game, in fact, I didn't even know you could crack steam games and get them to still work. :p

If verifying the game cache and/or forcing Steam to re-download everything (by literally deleting everything but Steam.exe) and/or reinstalling GMod doesn't help, you'll have to ask Garry.

I am heavily discouraging you from doing that. Just delete everything in the Steam directory (only in Steam/, not the subdirectories). That's way safer.

Yeah, my steam.dll was screwed up, just tested the thing.

[Edit] Also, lol, only read your warning post after I'd done it. :p

Oh God, it's checking my system and it says my system is full of errors.

For the archive, I hope you are aware what dynamic linked libraries are. And especially with Steam, which has a value, I would be more than cautious when downloading random parts.

After all, you wouldn't build in a random motor you find on the street into your car. Well, except your car won't lock you out permanently if it finds out it was a faulty motor.

Oh well, too late, and nothing happened, but then it came up and asked me for money to fix the 1100 errors on my system. :(

I've had this problem so many times in the past. Deleting "ClientRegistry.blob" usually fixes this problem.

Hum... Every now and then you do get just random errors with Steam. I don't get them now as much as I used to, but they still happen.

Yeah, I fixed it, it turned out you really just needed to download a "steam.dll" file and replace your broken one with it, then wait for steam to update, the error hasn't happened since.
