For anyone who doesn't know, the greatest inspiration of mine and perhaps the one of the smartest men to have walked on this Earth died today. He defied so many odds and managed to live to 76 with a disease that was expected to be fatal decades ago.

    He's forever in our hearts.

The man outlived his "a few years left" doctor's prediction at the age of 22 by 54 years. Truly a trooper and a one-of-a-kind genius. At least he passed away peacefully and his theories continue to live on.

Hell of an age to live to for somebody with his condition. Definitely sore to hear of this, though. His incredible contributions to the fields of physics will live on.

He inspired my brother to study physics at university and to try to walk into his steps though that's almost impossible considering Stephen was a genious. I consider him one of the strongest people in existence for bypassing his dissease and living for so long. At least now he's in a better place where he can probably enjoy life fully.

    RIP

Anyone who has even the slightest interest in cosmology / astromony / physics / mathematics knows how instrumental he was in his contributions.

I had the pleasure of meeting him at Cambridge Uni during a sixth-form insight day and it steered my career
