Joining S1/Any GMod server

Whenever I join S1, TnB server, or GMod server in general, it takes quite a long time to join, like, a really long time. This has never happened with other source games, just GMod, and im tired of it.

I even took the hobbits to isengard, yet they didn't have any info.

Gmod isn't exactly a typical source game.

Over time you tend to pick up alot of content (models, materials, sounds) etc all downloaded from servers you play on. In turn, GMod then has to load these every time you join any server or start singleplayer (singleplayer will naturally load quicker as it doesn't need to bother with the netcode or intensive gamemodes). The only way to solve it would be a clean install of GMod or to individually remove unneccessary files.

Maybe try cleaning it out and reinstalling the new version of the megapack. Remove your addons folder too. You can always just move that stuff out and put it back in if you decide you want some features etc.
