HL2RP: Crash on Connect

As of today, whenever I try to connect to the server it gets to 'extracting HL2TS2 Content' and crashes straight to desktop just as it's about to switch to the next thing w/o any form of notification. I think I had this problem before but can't remember how I fixed it, so I'm hoping someone else has had && solved this issue.

e: so far I've tried restarting my computer, starting up industrial in singleplayer, and various combos of uninstalling/unsubbing/disabling and reinstalling/resubbing/reenabling the HL2TS2 content pack from the workshop.

e2: i didn't go on the server when it was on central 17 / c45 and by the looks of it it was updated on that day, maybe something to do w/ that?

e3: re-installed gmod and now whenever it tries to install the content pack it crashes not only gmod but steam as well

I'm having the same problem.

After reinstalling GMOD the problem went away, but the HL2 content was still missing so I went in and enabled it, it 'downloaded the content from the workshop' and started extracting, bam, broke.

I got it to work, but not all parts might be essential I dunno. And it didn't fix it either, it just worked around it.

I unsubscribed from everything on the workshop,
extracted the content from the maps and hl2 pack with gmadextractor put them into the garrysmod/garrysmod folder,
removed everything in the addons folder(where the workshop files are kept),
went into options and turned off downloading custom content,
and it let me join.
 
well, i disabled custom content downloading and can get on the server now, except everyone's an error because i dont have the pack.

is there anywhere to download the hl2 content pack that isn't on the workshop? i keep reinstalling it but the GMA file isn't actually showing up in my addons folder, idk
 
uh, fixed, for now.

just dont ask me how because i have no idea
