A thread for all things guitars! Share your guitars, talk about great guitarists, ask for guitar advice, etc.

I'll send pictures later but I've got a Fender Stratocaster I've been playing for the last year alongside an acoustic Yamaha APX. I've had a bass for about two months and love playing it, but I've been playing so much guitar lately I forgot about him. PJ bass. There's so many guitars I'm considering buying within the next two months I'm having a hard time narrowing down the options, especially when I don't have all that much space in my room right now.

    SHOW AND TELL!
In the middle is an Epiphone DR-90 that my dad owns but has never played so it's mine. On the right is my Squier Bullet that I got for a good deal ($100, MSRP $150) from guitar center and started teaching myself to play on. On the left is my pride and joy- a 2004 Mexican Standard that I bought in shit condition for $300 (MSRP $500-600 new), and replaced all the screws, strap buttons, and bridge with brand new ones from the factory as they were rusted like it was from the '50s. Also switched the 5oz tremolo block for a 10oz. Also repainted the numbers on the knobs with a sharpie :^) it actually looks perfect. Right now it's at Guitar Center for maintenance and resurfacing frets. I'm so excited to play it in perfect condition! After all I've put into it I could have just spent a bit more and got a new one, but I feel like I've done a good thing for this instrument and I have a lot of attachment to it now.

This is my Tele Deluxe that I jam on all the time, its got a rosemary neck and double shawbuckers
love playing blues on this thing with the neck pickup

I was really lucky and got a close pic of Nile Rodgers himself bending down at me with his hitmaker during the Jan 26 national harbor MGM show (got to shake his hand after too, was pretty cool)

    its a freak tbh
smaller body, humbuckers, this weird tone knob that alters the sound (top left), f hole, wider neck than im used to, coil tap
it can go from emulating a telecaster to sounding like a les paul

That's the second time I've ever seen a chicken head knob on a guitar and I think the only other guitar I've seen with one might've been like a weird Brian May-esque guitar that a company made for him.

But yeah, that the thing looks wack as fuck but honestly I could dig it maybe. I never liked inlays like that unless they were on a Gibson, though.

thread should have stayed deleted, it just has unneeded vitriol that doesn't need to be seen on a fucking rp community, let alone while we are on the high of our new server which is bringing in new people

if you wanna keep the thread up, delete all the posts and lock it so its just BMY's post

dont have a pic of mine cause i left it @ home but ive got an ibanez sr750 that i use as my main bass, any time i play live or want to have a good quality sound.

    very fun instrument
i also got some lil beater bass that i play sometimes but i dont even know what kind it is lol, cost me like 100 bucks from a friend who was selling it

i grew up playing upright bass and id really like to get one of my own, i originally rented mine from my school cause theyre way too expensive. maybe once i have a job with a salary ill save up and get one

i really miss the fretless sound tho so i might see if i can defret that beater bass i have, cause like if i fuck it up its not the end of the world. if anyones got tips on how to do that plz lmk :)

I really want an Ibanez, I'm saving up for either Tim Henson's THBB10 or Mario Camarena's MAR10

Yes flannel is always plaid. Haven't you ever seen someone who was stuck in the '90s?

    Nani?
I'd have to take it to a guitar shop to get the truss rod adjusted from the body and I don't really want to pay $50 to do that on a guitar that isn't worth $100. Also not going to buy a new one so I guess I'll just have to deal with this boy sounding like a snare drum :^)

Changed my mind here's my new acoustic :D
    [IMG]
Giving my Epiphone to a church and my Squier to a friend. One decent acoustic and one decent electric are all I really need.
