Gmod issue

I know there's that thread about crashing on entering s1 and I've done that but this is a little different. It downloads everything, and i use that workshop thing, but right before it sends my data to the server, GMOD closes. no muss, no fuss, no message, it just closes. i get that cool opening screen with the talking and stuff, and everything seems to download fine. I'm not sure what's going on, if it's just that my computer is old and crappy or if there's something else I haven't noticed. Any ideas?

I had the error, and I've yet to find a concrete solution(except for a wipe), but this is what I did:

Download the content/map from the workshop, use an extractor to take out the models/materials/map/etc.

Disable all downloads from servers and that should work.

Xynasi and I had the same problem, I wiped my comp and xynasi just got lucky.
