In the wake of Judgement Day, the Russian Federation was all but dissolved. In a matter of moments, the largest nation on Earth was reduced to small piles of rubble. With SkyNET establishing a firm presence in the region, the surviving occupants were certain that the future-war would soon be on their doorstep. As the Russian military network, MIR, was absorbed and controlled by SkyNET, all communication networks were swiftly shut down. The military, as it was, completely collapsed. MIR's forces captured every well-known military instillation West of Siberia.

This was by no means the end. Those who remained in uniform had a small sense of hope - the guidance of well decorated former-Soviet officers, shifting the remnants back to the old ways of the long disbanded Red Army. Although heavily piecemeal in construction, holdouts began mixing with other holdouts. Despite being a shadow of its former self, the red star flies again.

The Free Forces are not a complete military force. Desertion, starvation and damaged supply lines are just a few issues the remaining forces face. They struggle with the rest of their crumbled society.

In the server's context...

The Free Forces is created for those who prefer the organized nature that Tech-Com provided. That being said, they will NOT be a faction of similar nature, especially for this RR. The Free Forces suffer an extreme lack of resources, relying on trade with the local population to feed itself. You will be wearing a uniform, but you will be given no advantages or privileges above anyone else in the server. The group is more of a tool for flavoring the setting, offering a little external organization for the remaining population. Effective weapons are rarely issued, and you will likely spend your time scraping any resources available.

Unlike Tech-Com this will simply be a different experience, rather than an elevated one.

To keep the balance between this faction and the rest, numbers will be kept to a minimum. We will allocate spaces based on who we think can bring the most to the server, not just the faction.

Joining.

With the RR's launch just over the horizon, there will be no formal application process. Simply shoot me a forum PM to express your interest/character ideas (leadership roles included, if that's something you desire - of course, we will be far more selective for this.) Numbers may expand IC, too.

I'm getting a lot of PMs right now, please keep in mind I'll be taking a while to get through them all.

Just to clarify,

- You aren't going to be handed out limitless stacks of ammo
- You don't have access to tanks or armored fighting vehicles of any kind
- The organizational structure is going to be very loose
- If you expect the same prominence Tech-Com has experienced then prepare to be disappointed
