Crashes upon entering Gmod servers

Howdy all,

As of today, my computer's decided to present a very vague problem. Whenever I try connecting to a server, it crashes Gmod - it loads server infor, sends client info, and then suddenly the "this program is not responding" message comes up. No exact error is specified. I've tried restarting steam, computer, and still zip. Sorry it's vauge, but any ideas?

Try loading the map in singleplayer first.

Tried that - works fine. Just seems to be multiplayer.

Try loading it into singleplayer and then going into the server itself, that works for me when I get the same problem.

(I suppose that should be kind of obvious, really.)

If it's like an S1 or S3 problem or whatever, usually joining another server with same script fixes it. For example, sometimes when I join S1 that happens. If I restart gmod after it happens and connect to S2 then S1 it loads fine.
