Black Everything Probem - Issue Solved

So, overview:

Whenever I join a server containing a lot of content/addons, I usually load in and 95% of textures are pitch black, and every single character in chat is, so if somebody types something in chat or I open an F4 menu or something, every letter, symbol, and number is just a black box. Along with icons in Q menu and textures for everything. Nothing becomes purple checkerboxes.

My problem on server:

I tried joining today, there's a new little problem: I have to try join twice, 1st time I join all the time it times me out because it freezes trying to install a part of unioncity, although I have it installed, and the 2nd time I join I manage to join, but the problem occurs - everything is black. I tried everything, restarting gmod, restarting pc, disabling all addons, enabling only content addons. Nothing works

Its literally impossible to play. I attached a screenshot to the thread of what it looks like upon joining.
I tried everything - verifying game cache, mat_texture_limit -1, reinstalling gmod.

Also the black boxes usually slowly take over my game when I end up loading too much things - e.g, when I search a prop and the icons load up, loading too many props/textures/icons will cause newly loaded ones to be black boxes, then slowly all the already rendered things become black

Whats your filepath leading to the Unioncity download? You may have to delete the addon and install it manually

have you flushed out your addons + server downloads and started anew with just tnb addons only?

I dont think its a unioncity problem, I've had that addon for a while - yesterday it worked fine until I went off, came back on today and it's been broke

Done everything I possibly could with addons
Disabled/Enabled All,
Disabled/Enabled All TnB
Uninstalled All Addons And Installed TnB Zombie content with it enabled and then disabled
Uninstalled every single addon

Alright I did some digging after you asked about this in the Discord.

First try updating your video/graphics drivers.
You can do that by going to your computer's Control Panel > Device Manager > Display Adapters > Double clicking the Driver listed > Driver Tab > Update Driver.

If that does not work then try messing around with your Garry's Mods settings.
It might be getting triggered due to your current game resolution or whether you're playing in Full Screen vs. Windowed Mode.

when you say uninstalled, disabling all addons does not = uninstalling them

did you run menu_gmacleanup after disabling them and rebooting gmod? this is a clear issue with one of the fonts used, so reinstalling the addons should be the fix

edit: you should only be subscribed to the tnb addons, as a conflict with another addon enabled has caused this issue!

Been fixed now, it was the servers addons - must have been dodgy and messed up my PC
