Alright, so I just recently looked into this thread last night, and within the short time of a day, several good RR event ideas have been brewing in my mind. I figured I'd list them down, with little descriptions, and depending one which ones everyone likes, we can spitball ideas for them and further flesh them out.

1. Lovecraft-based RR - For anyone who's had the pleasure of reading H.P Lovecraft's works, you probably can tell what this might entail. As of yet I'm not completely sure which story in particular It'll be based off of. Maybe the Mountains of Madness Antarctic Expedition or a spooky adventure like that, or maybe something more Action-y like the Raid on Innsmouth and the following torpedo-ing of Devil's Reef. Like I said, we'll spitball.

2. They Live! RR - A RR revolving around the plot of John Carpenter's 1988 film 'They Live!'. I Thought about having it split into three factions

'Ones Who Can See' - The people who know what's really going on.

'Sleepers' - The oblivious people, going about their everyday lives doing menial tasks, OBEYing. And eventually swept up in clashes between the Masters and the Ones Who Can See.

'Masters' - The ugly blue-red, bug-eyed, enigmatic Puppet-masters.

I'd like it to be set in the late 80's with large to medium urban map, sprawling with high-rises and advertisements, and if there's not enough, we can always dupe some up. I got a few Ideas on what they'd say. And ad far as the One Who See and the effects of 'seeing' is something i'd like to work on.

3. Return of The Living Dead RR - It's the Summer of 1985 and a strange storm brews in Louisville, Kentucky. The dead are rising, it's party time! - A more cheesy, humorous take on zombie apocalypse roleplay.

We have a zombie RR right now, just split up into chapters from what I can understand.

The other ones look pretty sick though.

I mean, they are cool ideas but the hardest part is always taking that cool idea and molding it into a scenario that's actually fun for more than just a small handful of people.

For instance, Lovecraftian horror is often about 1 persons' descent into madness- the conflict being retaining their own sanity in the face of truths beyond human comprehension. You'd have to noodle around with that Though I would love an eldritch RP scenario and I'm interested in helping to write that one if you're up for it.

Alright, well cross that one out I guess. I was thinking about maybe a Predator RR as well.

Yeah, the true Lovecraft atmosphere is kinda hard to capture with multiple people, and can be assured it never ends happily. I was also thinking of ding a Lovecraftian 1 man's decent into madness kinda of event for one of my Halloween events. But I'm totally up for throwing around some ideas.

Id like to see an RR loosely based on FTL: Faster than Light.

Following a decent sized crew trying to make a dangerous flight across the galaxy and struggling to keep their ship from falling apart at the seams.

I imagine it'd be hard to do in gmod, however. At least do well.
