64bit not working?

Hey there, to anyone who is able to help me out. I followed the short tutorial on how to set my gmod over to 64-bit, even selecting which option to start playing the game on. However, every single time i load up the game and start playing on the server. I end up dipping to at least 25 to sometimes 30 fps. Sometimes do i go higher than that but only on rare occasions. I was wondering if i perhaps did something wrong or is it time for an upgrade or something.

64-Bit is a beta branch and subject to rapid releases, bug introductions, and fixes by Facepunch. Usually the bar is that you'll recieve better performance notes on 64-Bit, but this is not always the case.

I used 64-bit for a while back when we were on downpour. I can't remember if typing gmod_mcore_test 1 still did anything on top of the boost you already got. Though I had a bug with the 64-bit branch that caused props to start disappearing from the spawn list so I stopped using it.

It fluctuates from time to time when we were on the map getting attacked by zombies and such i remember it being so low for me. But now it’s somewhere between 15 to 20 and sometimes 35 if I’m lucky.

I’m about to cave in and get a new card if need be.

gmod is almost always CPU bottlenecked so a new graphics card likely won't help -- a new cpu could do wonders though, if yours is aging

Sounds like that may be the issue then. I’ll be sure to look into what could help me out. Any recommendations?
