STALKER Roleplay & Community Update Announcement

Guys, It comes with great news that I've been elected as Admin for SRP. I can't promise you help, but I'll be the best one out there

And just when we started fixing shit, this genuinely just feels like we're saying 'fuck it, I can't be bothered' with TRP and adopting a 'the grass is greener on the other side' mentality with SRP.

Six months from now who will even give enough of a shit to bother bringing back TRP?

E: Especially if we can't be assed to keep it alive as it is now.

FYI, I have heavily stressed my position that SRP is not here to muscle out TRP. TRP isn’t going anywhere until the TRP team is satisfied that it’s time.

Even if we wanted to force SRP out ASAP, the closest launch window is quite a ways out. There is much work to be done. Many TRP staff members are involved, and I will not ask them to work against their own interests in TRP, which is a passion project for them as much as SRP is for me.

Please stop posting the stupid player count meme. It's played out.

Putting more words as to why we're doing this, the last time TnB had an SRP was back in 2016, that was the last time we explored the setting properly in something that was planned and had proper backing. When the opportunity came along to take an SRP in under TnB and involve our community from the beginning it's not something we could really pass up, not in terms of what it could offer TnB in terms of hype and draw power. People in TnB have been waiting on an SRP here for a long time.

I do appreciate the staff team of TRP and their willingness to keep up the slog of making TRP work but with the rut that we were in it was just favourable to adjust and realign in order to rebuild community interest in general, since let's be honest we just dropped the ball on TRP from top to bottom and although we could commit and make that work it feels like an absolutely daunting task.

TRP will have time to get to a satisfactory pause point and SRP will be worked on in the mean time. I understand that with things like this there's no way to please everyone and there's always going to be a couple of people justifiably upset, but just understand that this road forward was chosen for the community as a whole.
