Have you turned your textures to medium before connecting?

1 gig =/= 1000 mb, if only computer bytes used metric instead of exponents of 2 anyways tbh id just lower ur textures to medium or something

I've played on several maps on TnB's servers and still have the same issue. I doubt any one map influenced that many sessions. I'm calling my ISP when I can, this shit's ridiculous. I just played S2 for about 20 minutes without a single problem, then suddenly got blasted with repeating lag...

It used to be my connecting to server... would hang and then I'd get booted back to the Gmod main menu after four attempts to connect. I noticed during that time only certain servers gave me that problem though. After I couldn't connect to S2 I'd connect to a DarkRP server just fine. Sometimes...

6 core CPU? Not very useful unless you're into video editting. A lot of games don't even take advantage of quad-core, and given console stagnation the best option would probably be a high frequency duel-core. Also get more RAM. More RAM always = better performance. 4 GB is about the max expected...
